Keilana Tu'itupou
Artist Reception August 9, 6:30-8:PM
Keilana Tu'itupou is an artist, a daydreamer, a mosaic of creative passions, and an overactive imagination. Her ancestors hail from the beautiful islands of luscious green complimented by the sweet scents of wild tropical flowers. The islands of Samoa, Tonga, and Hawai'i. Her heritage also traces to the rich lands of ceremony and values (Japan) and lands of influential art and culture (Europe).
Keilana believes that art is a place where she truly belongs. She utilizes acrylic paint and mixed media to express all her unspoken words, gratitude for the life she's been blessed with, and creating a tangible record for her people to feel seen and heard in. Keilana is very intentional in her artwork, a nod to her Pasifika ancestors, where you can discover heartwarming meanings through motifs, symbols, and quotes hidden in a vibrant array of colors.
As a young artist, Keilana knows that there is a lot more to learn and experience. She is currently a student at Salt Lake Community College studying Fine Arts in where she hopes to obtain a bachelor's degree. As Keilana progresses on her artistic journey, all she hopes to do is inspire others to be unapologetically, authentically themselves.
