Robin Wells

Artist Reception April 1, 6:30 - 8:30 PM

My name is Robin Wells and I am a resin artist.

I grew up in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California. My mother was an artist and so I was exposed to art my whole life. While not formally trained, she loved to take classes in oil painting. My mother spent a lot of time painting at the kitchen table and as a small child, I would experiment with oil painting alongside her.

As an adult, I was very interested in arts and crafts and took classes at the local junior college. Every year at Christmas I made gifts for friends and family. Each year I tried something different such as painting, photography, sewing, building bird houses, baking, making bird feeders, mosaic, ceramics and making soap.

Soon after moving to Utah in 2019, I discovered resin art and quickly fell in love with it. I learned the process by watching YouTube videos and experimenting. I soon found out that it wasn’t as easy as it looked on the videos, but it was certainly fun. I first learned how to work with resin by making coasters for my family as Christmas gifts and now I enjoy making all kinds of resin art pieces. My favorite though, is making wall art.

My passion for making resin art has turned into a small business and I sell prices at art shows, farmers markets and work of mouth. I am still evolving in this art, and I learn something new with every piece.
